A vicar has agreed to launch a nude calendar in his church after his women parishioners posed naked to raise money for victims of rape.
The Rev Stephen Earley, of St Martin's Church in the village of Horsley, Gloucestershire, says he's not anticipating complaints when the calendar is launched next month.
A group of 13 women villagers, aged between 30 and 55, posed for the calendar, which was shot by Angela Williams, a former Vogue photographer who has had her work displayed in the National Gallery.
It will raise money for Surf, a London-based organisation helping victims of rape in Rwanda, particularly those with HIV. The inspiration came from the film Calendar Girls, says The Times.
Reverend Earley said: "We didn't have any hesitation because it is what the church should be doing, which is raising money for a tremendous cause."
Jo Hofman, 50, who posed for the calendar while meditating, said: "Posing naked has been a challenge for some - they have had to work things through with their partners first. My children were initially horrified, but my husband has been amazingly supportive."
She said many of the women pictured have suffered sexual abuse.
The women have printed 5,000 calendars and will be selling them at £10 each.
