CITA:

COMENTARIO DE EDISON

Empecemos por reconocer que el pasaje en ninguna parte afirma que era apóstol, pero sí señala que eran muy estimados entre los apóstoles...y fueron personas convertidas antes que el apóstol Pablo...es posible que en el día de Pentecostés, leemos:

Act 2:10 en Frigia y Panfilia, en Egipto y en las regiones de Africa más allá de Cirene, y romanos aquí residentes, tanto judíos como prosélitos,

Aclarado esto, sigue averiguar si era un hombre o una mujer, porque por ahi circula una IDEA de una reverenda Catherine J. Riss, traducido por: Roberto Salgado Carrasco, quien cree que Junias es mujer, su trabajo se llama "LA APÓSTOL JUNIA" puede ser leído en el mensaje 104 de la página 7 del tema ¿Puedenl las mujeres ser pastoras?.

Este tema lo llevé a un un foro americano donde está siendo debatido...y una participante responde con ironía:

BTW, ni Junias ni Andrónico fueron apóstoles. La Biblia dice que solo hubo 12, luego 11 (cuando se mató Judas Iscariote), el que ocupó su lugar fue Matías, y El Señor mismo llamó al apostol Pablo. Y a nadie mas.

Andrónico y Junias sí eran apóstoles, probablemente se trataba de un matrimonio como Aquilas y Priscila.
Estuve leyendo que la palabra apóstol no tiene en Pablo el sentido restringido que tiende a darle Lucas reservándolo para los Doce. Apóstol es todo enviado por la comunidad oficialmente para anunciar las buena nueva de Cristo resucitado., o también enviado por el mismo Cristo.
Otro escritor dice que Andrónico y Junia probablemente tuvieron una visión de Cristo resucitado y por eso se convirtieron en sus apóstoles.
Los padres griegos que mencionan a Junias afirman sin vacilar que se trataba de una mujer. ¿Qué pasó entonces? Intérpretes androcéntricos la convirtieron pronto en varón, pues no les cabía en la cabeza que una mujer fuera apóstol.

Que Junias era una apóstol, es algo que solo ha venido a luz en este último tiempo malo, cuando han aparecido falsos apóstoles como bandadas de pájaros de mal aguero, cuando han proliferado las falsas doctrinas, cuando la mujer ha abandonado el hogar, seducido por Satanás, quien le sigue prometiendo que será como Dios, y cuando muchos hombres han renunciado a las responzabilidades que Dios les ha asignado, ayayayayyy !!!

No es extraño que pronto Dios sea mujer también, como ya hay muchos que lo creen, ayayayayayyyy !!!

Junto con esto, hay los que dicen que los apóstoles eran solo 12, aunque Pablo es apóstol, y también Apolos, y Bernabé y Matías.

Los apóstoles son hombres especiales que Dios en todas las generaciones ha designado para edificar la Iglesia, leamos:

The prophet Jonah went by Yonah (feminine) in Hebrew, not Yon (masculine). His name was feminine, and not masculine, yet there's no doubt he was a man. "Junias" is simply a Greek variant of "Jonah" / "Yonah".

For the most part, the existance of a female "apostle" / "sent one" would not mean that we ignore verses that tell us that women cannot teach men. There is a place for women in ministry. They can be "sent ones" to teach women. They can be "sent" (apostled) to teach children. They can be "sent ones" (apostles) to perform ministries that don't involve teaching. But 2 different verses in Scripture cannot contradict and we cannot ignore verses we don't like because we think verses we do like are more important and override the verses we don't like. All verses have to agree. We do know from the all the discussion in othert verses is that women can be sent to teach women and children and can be sent to do many non-teaching roles, including prophesying, works of service, etc. But they have not been sent by God to team men.

"I suffer not a woman to teach,
nor to usurp authority over
the man" (1 Tim 2:12)

The existance of a female apostle would not tell us we can ignore 1 Tim 2:12 because we don't like it. It simply means that her mission would not have included teaching men.

However, getting back to the original premise, there's no proof that Junia was a woman, and the prophet Jonah provides us with evidence that at least one man in the Bible went by the Hebrew form of this feminine name. Well hey...I have worked for the Government as a Hebrew/English translator. But I guess since you don't like my results....geeeeee. ....that' s all it takes for some people to attack someone's expertise. I mean if you've been PAID to translate Hebrew into English, and vice versa, by people who stake their reputation on the profession of translation, that's good enough for most people - except of course those for whom if you disagree with their theology, you have no credentials at all evn if you're right.

You don't have to believe me. Look it up for yourself. Check out Ben Yehudah's dictionary. On page 118, it lists "Yon" as the masculine form of "dove", and "Yonah" as the feminine form. "Yonah" is what Jonah went by. You can look it up yourself if you want. In fact, I'll send you a scan of the page if you want.

Now transliterating into Greek, the YUD becomes a IOTA, the NUN becomes a NU, vowels like VAV may get multiple treatments depending on the translator. And of course the ending just depends on the case. So yes, Junia is a variant of the name "Jonah" - the VERY NAME in which a man is observed to use a name in its feminine form. Of course, it wouldn't matter if "Junia" was a variant of Jonah or not - that really isn't the crucial issue. It simply emphasizes the point, but it doesn't make the point. The fact that a man could use a feminine name or a woman could carry a masculine name here or there is enough to tell us that grammar alone does not make a case. Barak Obama's mother was named "Stanley". My Grandmother went by "Bob". Some names can be either.

As for your statement " What you need to do is to find a Junia or Junias mentioned in that period who is obviously a man Scholars have tried. There were none." You're wrong there again too. The historian Epiphanius (4th century AD) describes Junias as a man and says he became bishop of Apameia in Syria (Index disciplulorum 125.19- 20). But no, what I need to do is NOT find a Junia in history, because Scripture is clear that women cannot teach men or have authority over men. And that settles the issue. And it doesn't matter whether Junia was a man or a women, if Eusebius was wrong and Junia was a women, the rest of Scripture would simply tell us that her role did not involve teaching men or having authority over a man.

So we got history telling us he was a man.
We have MOST manuscripts putting the name "Junia" / "Jounian" / "Junias" in either masculine or neutral form (only a small handful use the feminine form anyway)
And there's multiple verses telling us that women cannot teach men or have authority over men.

Face it - this is a dead horse. We cannot say that verses that CLEARLY tell us women can't teach men are overturned by verses that are vague and can't beproven to mean you you'd like it to mean. That's not submitting yourself to the Word, that is rebelling against it and trying to rewrite it.

El profeta Jonás se dice por Yonah (femenino) en hebreo, no Yon (masculino). Su nombre era femenino y masculino, aún no hay duda de que era un hombre. "Junias" es simplemente una variante griega de "Jonás" / "Yonah".

En su mayor parte, la existencia de una mujer de "apóstol" / "envió un" no significa que ignoremos los versículos que nos dicen que las mujeres no pueden enseñar a los hombres. Hay un lugar para las mujeres en el ministerio. Pueden ser "los enviados" para enseñar a las mujeres. Pueden ser "enviado" (apostled) para enseñar a los niños. Pueden ser "los enviados" (apóstoles) para llevar a cabo los ministerios que no tienen que ver con la enseñanza. Pero dos versos diferentes en la Escritura no puede contradecir y no podemos ignorar los versículos que no nos gusta porque creemos que los versos que me gusta son más importantes y anular los versos que no nos gusta. Todos los versos que estar de acuerdo. Lo que sí sabemos de la toda la discusión en los versículos othert es que las mujeres pueden ser enviados a enseñar a las mujeres y los niños y se pueden enviar a hacer muchos papeles no docente, incluyendo la profecía, la obra de servicio, etc Pero no han sido enviados por Dios a los hombres del equipo.

"Porque no permito a la mujer enseñar,
ni que ejerza autoridad sobre
el hombre "(1 Tim 2:12)

La existencia de un apóstol mujer no nos dice que podemos pasar por alto a Tim 2:12 porque no me gusta. Simplemente significa que su misión no habría incluido enseñar a los hombres.

Sin embargo, volviendo a la premisa original, no hay prueba de que Junia era una mujer, y el profeta Jonás nos ofrece evidencia de que al menos un hombre en la Biblia se fue por la forma hebrea de este nombre de mujer. Para concluir debemos ignorar los versículos que no nos gusta en favor de los versos que nos gusta. Lo mejor es someternos a la autoridad de la Palabra.

Well hey...I have worked for the Government as a Hebrew/English translator. But I guess since you don't like my results....geeeeee. ....that' s all it takes for some people to attack someone's expertise. I mean if you've been PAID to translate Hebrew into English, and vice versa, by people who stake their reputation on the profession of translation, that's good enough for most people - except of course those for whom if you disagree with their theology, you have no credentials at all evn if you're right.

You don't have to believe me. Look it up for yourself. Check out Ben Yehudah's dictionary. On page 118, it lists "Yon" as the masculine form of "dove", and "Yonah" as the feminine form. "Yonah" is what Jonah went by. You can look it up yourself if you want. In fact, I'll send you a scan of the page if you want.

Now transliterating into Greek, the YUD becomes a IOTA, the NUN becomes a NU, vowels like VAV may get multiple treatments depending on the translator. And of course the ending just depends on the case. So yes, Junia is a variant of the name "Jonah" - the VERY NAME in which a man is observed to use a name in its feminine form. Of course, it wouldn't matter if "Junia" was a variant of Jonah or not - that really isn't the crucial issue. It simply emphasizes the point, but it doesn't make the point. The fact that a man could use a feminine name or a woman could carry a masculine name here or there is enough to tell us that grammar alone does not make a case. Barak Obama's mother was named "Stanley". My Grandmother went by "Bob". Some names can be either.

The historian Epiphanius (4th century AD) describes Junias as a man and says he became bishop of Apameia in Syria (Index disciplulorum 125.19- 20). But no, what I need to do is NOT find a Junia in history, because Scripture is clear that women cannot teach men or have authority over men. And that settles the issue. And it doesn't matter whether Junia was a man or a women, if Eusebius was wrong and Junia was a women, the rest of Scripture would simply tell us that her role did not involve teaching men or having authority over a man.

So we got history telling us he was a man.
We have MOST manuscripts putting the name "Junia" / "Jounian" / "Junias" in either masculine or neutral form (only a small handful use the feminine form anyway)
And there's multiple verses telling us that women cannot teach men or have authority over men.

Face it - this is a dead horse. We cannot say that verses that CLEARLY tell us women can't teach men are overturned by verses that are vague and can't beproven to mean you you'd like it to mean. That's not submitting yourself to the Word, that is rebelling against it and trying to rewrite it.

Estoy de acuerdo con esto que afirma el forista...en realidad es irrelevante si Junias fue hombre o mujer, lo verdaderamente importante es la Escritura y Ella respecto al rol de la mujer en la Iglesia de Cristo...no involucra ninguna enseñanza hacia los hombres o ser pastora de hombres...los reclamos y desgarre de vestiduras y ataques sobre machismo y otras arandelas...simplemente es rebeldia a la Palabra de Dios...muy tipica del mundo denominacional...y cuando ven una mujer de Dios...plantada en el lugar que Dios le asigno y donde sirve con sumo gozo a Su Señor...entonces le llueven toda suerte de ataques descalificatorios...hasta el extremo de llega a poner en duda su femineidad...pero así es el diablo...no descansa en campaña de desprestigio hacia el Creador...

¿Con qué Dios os ha dicho...no podéis ser pastoras?
